Chaya Feuerman, LCSW-R EMDR, IFS, Brainspotting
Trauma comes in many different forms. My specialty practice focuses on all forms of trauma, including physical and emotional abuse and neglect, sexual abuse and exploitation, spiritual and religious abuse, educational abuse and neglect, financial exploitation, environmental traumas including vehicular accidents and natural disasters as well as complex grief and loss.
These are some of the distressing feelings that some people experience after trauma:
“I keep having flashbacks to what happened 7 years ago”
“I just can’t move on from the loss and grief I feel”
“I don’t seem to be able to say “NO” when I know that’s what I need to do”
“As hard as I try I continue to find myself in the same destructive patterns”
“I make impulsive financial decisions”
“I don’t follow my intuition and then I get into bad situations and relationships”
Additionally, in today’s rapidly changing world, political issues can also cause emotional trauma. Increasingly, people have shared about experiences with family as well as friends and colleagues that I have come to identify as Socio-Political Trauma.
I am certified in IFS and EMDR modalities, and trained in Brainspotting. EMDR and IFS are evidence based therapy models, and brainspotting is gaining empirical support through growing clinical success. All three models are utilized to help resolve trauma and PTSD symptoms.
IFS, EMDR and Brainspotting are psychotherapy models that reach for deeper exploration, understanding and resolution of disturbing material. Unlike traditional ‘Talk Therapy’ EMDR, IFS and Brainspotting seek to journey toward the root underlying causes of distress rather than simply being heard and validated with compassion. All three modalities achieve these goals only via different paths of clinical protocol. I often use all three models in the same session. Some clients prefer one specific model and many appreciate all three.
I have 28 years of clinical experience and I work with children ages 11+, adolescents and adults.

My unique and powerful combination approach of EMDR, IFS and Brainspotting is transformative. The expert blend of these treatment modalities is often more effective than one approach on its own. Let us be courageous together!
